Accomplishment is socially judged by ill-defined criteria so that one has to rely on others to find out how one is doing. But you need to have a goal. And a goal is not the same as a desire, and this is an important distinction to make. You can have a desire you don't intend to act on. But you can't have a goal you don't intend to act on. The desire to achieve your goal is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek.
